How to Make an All-Natural Homemade Deodorant

Today, I want to share a simple yet effective recipe for homemade deodorant. It’s completely natural, free from preservatives and irritants, and—most importantly—it really works! At least, it does for me. 😊

Ingredients and Their Benefits

🔸 Coconut Oil – Has antibacterial properties that help control odor-causing bacteria. It also nourishes the skin, making it incredibly soft while reducing inflammation.

🔸 Cocoa Butter – Naturally hard at room temperature, it helps give the deodorant its solid stick form. It also deeply moisturizes the skin, leaving it smooth, soft, and well-hydrated while aiding in skin regeneration and soothing inflammation.

🔸 Beeswax – Another essential ingredient for maintaining the deodorant’s solid form. Beeswax has antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. It also promotes skin healing, accelerates the recovery of minor wounds, and soothes irritation.

🔸 Jojoba Oil – Quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving it soft and hydrated without feeling greasy. It has antibacterial properties that help keep the skin fresh while acting as an anti-inflammatory agent to calm irritation.

🔸 Green Clay – Helps detoxify the skin by absorbing impurities such as dirt, pollution, bacteria, excess sebum, and sweat. It also balances the skin’s pH and regulates sweat and sebaceous glands, making it an excellent addition to natural deodorant.

🔸 Essential Oils – These oils not only provide a pleasant scent but also possess antibacterial and antifungal properties, acting as a natural preservative. I used lavender essential oil for a calming effect, but you can choose your favourite scent or create a custom blend.

Recipe (for 100g of deodorant):

  • 30g coconut oil
  • 20g cocoa butter
  • 10g jojoba oil
  • 10g beeswax
  • 28g green clay
  • 1g essential oil (about 20 drops)
  • 1g vitamin E (about 20 drops)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Weigh out the coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, and jojoba oil.
  • Place them in a heatproof glass container and melt them using a double boiler (water bath) until fully liquefied.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat and add the green clay, stirring well to ensure even distribution.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding the essential oil and vitamin E. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
  • While still in liquid form, pour the mixture into a clean and disinfected deodorant container.
  • Let it sit for about 20 minutes to start solidifying, then place it in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour until fully set.

How to Use

Apply a small amount of deodorant onto clean, dry skin. For better absorption, you can gently rub it in with your fingertips.

How Does It Work for Me?

After applying, the deodorant absorbs quickly while leaving a light, protective layer on my skin. It keeps my skin moisturized, nourished, and incredibly soft. Any irritation I had before disappeared completely. Unlike commercial deodorants that often feel sticky, this one leaves my skin feeling fresh for a long time—even after intense workouts!
This homemade deodorant truly surprised me with its effectiveness! If you’re thinking about trying it, go for it! You won’t regret switching to a natural alternative. 😊
