Testing Lemon Juice for Hair Lightening: 2.5-Month Experiment Results!

Hello, beauty enthusiasts! ๐ŸŒž Are you curious about natural hair-lightening methods and how effective they really are? I tried using lemon juice combined with sun exposure to see if this well-known hack could truly bring out lighter shades and natural highlights over time. I’ve shared all the details in my latest YouTube video, but here’s a sneak peek of what I did and the surprising results.

The Experiment Setup
In this experiment, I prepped several hair strands, using different solutions and conditions. Some strands were soaked in undiluted lemon juice, others in a diluted lemon-water mixture, and another in pure water. Each sample was exposed to sunlight for hours on sunny days, while others were kept indoors for comparison. I wanted to see if natural sunlight would enhance lemon juice’s lightening effect, how it would affect hair texture, and whether it caused any damage over time.

Impressions and Results
After 2.5 months, the sample soaked in pure water and exposed to the sun ended up being the lightest of them all! This was a surprising twist in the experiment since the general assumption is that lemon’s acidic nature would create the biggest effect. However, lemon juice did still contribute to lightening, adding warm undertones to the strands exposed to it in the sun. The samples kept indoors barely changed, showing that sunlight is essential for any noticeable effect.
