Unlock the Secrets of Cassia Powder: My Hair Experiment
Have you ever heard of cassia powder? Often referred to as “colourless henna,” cassia is not henna at all! Instead, it’s a versatile, natural hair treatment that can condition, strengthen, and add shine to your strands. But what about its rumoured ability to give hair a golden tint or even lighten it? That’s what I set out to discover in my latest hair experiment.
Why Cassia?
Cassia powder is known for its ability to:
Condition Hair Naturally: It smooths the hair cuticle, leaving your strands soft and manageable.
Add Volume and Shine: Perfect for dull or fine hair, cassia gives your hair a fuller, healthier look.
Enhance Hair Colour: It’s said to create golden highlights on light-coloured hair when mixed with acidic ingredients like lemon juice.
Promote Hair Growth: By improving scalp health, cassia can support stronger, longer hair.
Curious about these claims, I decided to test cassia on hair samples to see if it could really deliver on its promises.
The Experiment Setup
To make the results clear, I prepared four hair samples:
Cassia + Lemon Juice (left overnight): Known for creating golden hues.
Cassia + Lemon-Water Mix (left overnight): To see if a milder mix has a different effect.
Cassia + Water (applied immediately): To test its pure conditioning properties.
Control Sample: Untreated hair for comparison.
I carefully prepared the cassia pastes, applied them to the hair samples, and kept them warm for a few hours to simulate real application conditions. Then, I rinsed the samples and waited to see the magic unfold!
What Happened Next?
The results were fascinating! Even after the first application, the treated hair samples showed:
Incredible Shine: The cassia-coated strands reflected light beautifully.
Golden Highlights: Most noticeable in the lemon juice mix.
Slight Lightening Effect: Especially with the lemon-cassia combinations.
But that’s not all—I also tested the cassia mixture on my own hair. Did it transform my strands? You’ll have to watch my YouTube video to find out! 😉
Tips for Using Cassia
If you’re inspired to try cassia on your hair, here are some quick tips:
The best results come from mixing cassia with lemon juice or a lemon-water blend.
Let the paste sit for 6–8 hours before applying for the best results.
Keep your hair warm during the treatment to maximize its effects.
Avoid shampooing for 48–72 hours after rinsing to let the benefits fully develop.
